Our story
From the shelf to your home.
Prabha Tex is a retail clothing store in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu. We stock and sell — three departments on one floor, covering men, women and children. Everything shown on our collection page is stock you can walk in and see.
The shop has served the neighbourhood for over ten years. Most of our customers come back season after season, which is what shapes the buying: we keep the lines that last and quietly drop the ones that do not.

How we go about it
Buy carefully, keep the shelves full in every size, and let people take their time choosing. No pressure at the counter and no piece sold that we would not wear ourselves.

Buying
We pick lines from mills and wholesalers we have dealt with for years, checking cloth and stitching by hand before we take a lot.

Checking in
Every piece is opened, looked over for weave and colour faults, and sent back if it does not match what we ordered.

Tagging
Size, fabric and price go on the tag before anything reaches the shelf, so there is nothing to ask at the counter.

Shelving
Sorted by department and size — men, women and kids kept separate so a family can split up and still finish in one trip.

Trying
Folds get opened, sarees get held up, shirts get tried. Take as long as you need before deciding.

Taking it home
Folded, wrapped and billed at the tagged price. Same day, no waiting for a delivery.
What we stock
Everyday wear and occasion wear, side by side
Cotton for the working week, silk and jacquard for functions. We keep both because a family needs both, and it saves a second trip somewhere else.
